Founder of the Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception
The community of CRIC was founded in the Jura region in France by Dom Adrien Grea. His main desire was to restore the Canons Regular expelled and suppressed during the French Revolution. In 1871 he made his perpetual profession with other five men. Elected Vicar General of the Diocese of Saint Claude, Dom Grea proposed community life and a great help as a remedy for the diocesan clergy. Testified and taught his brothers a great love for the Church, the liturgy, pastoral service and a true spirit of penance and true ascetic life.
